Essentials for a Perfect Pamper Evening

What is better than treating yourself to a relaxing evening filled with pampering and your favourite products…well I can think of a few things, but that’s not the point I’m trying to make here! Self-care is vital to our overall wellbeing, so the occasional night of pure calm is definitely a push in the right direction.

Bubble Trouble Rhubarb and Custard Bath Bomb

One of my favourite things to do when I have a pamper evening is to have a bath, either filled with bubbles, bath salts or a colourful bath bomb. Lush seems to be everyone’s go to store for picking up amazing bath products, but I have recently discovered Bubble Trouble (I won a little giveaway). Bubble Trouble is a newly established vegan bath bomb company, created by Lauren. Lauren completely handmakes her 100% cruelty free bath products and uses environmentally friendly packaging. Bubble Trouble are an all round brilliant company and I’d recommend checking them out (also super affordable). I won the Rhubarb and Custard bath bomb, and it smells exactly like the retro boiled sweet. It’s pink and yellow in colour and left my skin feeling squeeky clean and my mind and body completely relaxed.

Garnier Ultimate Blends Soothing Hair Food Coconut and Macadamia 3 in 1 Hair Mask for Frizzy and Unruly Hair

Another essential to any pampering session, is to nourish my hair. I don’t often use hair masks, but when I do, I have been reaching for the Garnier Hair Food Coconut & Macademia mask. I have naturally very curly hair, which is often on the drier side. This mask really hydrates my hair and leaves it feeling fresh and silky smooth. Once applied, I like to let my hair soak in it for a little while, so I’ll pop my hair in a shower cap for about 5-10 minutes.

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask and The Body Shop British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask

I recently ordered a couple of face masks from The Body Shop. I picked up the minature versions incase they didn’t work well on my skin. On the contrary, the masks are perfect on my oily/combination skin. The British Rose Plumping Mask leaves my skin feeling hydrated straight after use, I love using this both morning and evening. The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask is 100% a dupe for the GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Mask, it leaves my skin looking fresh and clean within 10 minutes. Incorportating masks into my evening pamper routine is my favourite thing to do.

Elemis Life Elixirs Sleep Candle

This might seem like an obvious one, but candles really set the tone for a night of relaxation. Surrounding yourself by candle light and amazing scents creates a really tranquill atmosphere, especially when combined with a nice warm bath. I have a couple of candles on my chest of drawers at the moment, my favourite being the Elemis Life Elixirs Sleep Candle. This is an aromatherapy candle which is perfect when unwinding from a hectic day.

Avon Planet Spa Sleep Serenity Pillow Mist with Camomile and Lavander

Speaking of aromatherapy, essential oils are another great way of supporting relaxation and stress relief. A pillow or bedroom mist is a cheaper alternative to purchasing an essential oils diffuser. One which I love is the Avon Aromatherapy Beauty Sleep Mist. Containing lavender and chamomile, this mist will fill your entire bedroom with a beautiful calming scent, ideal for use before sleep. On evenings were I’m feel particularly stressed or anxious, this spray helps to bring a wash of tranquility over my very active mind, aiding me into a blissful night’s sleep.

I don’t treat myself all that often to a night of pamper, but after putting this post together I really want to make more of an effort to do this regularly. As a matter of fact, as I write this, I’ve had a rather disappointing and stressful day, so a night of destressing is on the cards this evening for sure. What sort of things do you do to calm your mind and body after a difficult day?

Until Another Day x

  1. This is such a lovely post, Kelly – you’ve got me craving exactly such a pamper evening now. 🙂

I love the Body Shop masks – they are really effective and not that expensive either. I love my Muji diffuser as well – it sets up the perfect atmosphere for a cosy pamper evening. Have you tried the This Works pillow mist? I’ve found it works wonders for a good night’s sleep.

  3. What a lovely post! I think it’s nice to see how people practise self-care as you can always take little bits to make your own! You’re so lucky to have won the giveaway! I’ve seen a lot about bubble trouble but haven’t yet made a purchase, so it’s nice to hear what the bath bombs are like. Thank you for sharing your essentials, Happy Pampering!

  4. Honestly, reading this has made me realise that I haven’t had a pamper night or anything like that in such a long time. I used to love having a good soak with a bath bomb and candles and just relaxing so I’m going to have to have one soon. Thank you for sharing x

  5. I love a good pamper night and these look like such good products! I swear by the garnier hair masks, the banana one is my current favourite. I can’t use bath bombs which makes me so sad, but that rhubarb and custard one sounds incredible! x

  6. Great post. I love a pamper night using The Body Shop products. More specifically the face masks using seaweed, or the oatmeal and honey one. Plus need a scented candle lit up whilst reading blog posts or watching something that inspires me.

  7. I love a good pamper! Hair masks and face masks always make my list too. I’m more of a shower girl, but I do occasionally indulge in a bath. I’m a huge fan of Laura Mercier’s Ambre Vanille Honey Bath, the scent is perfect for autumn/winter. I’ve never tried a pillow spray but so many people have said they’ve helped them get a good night’s sleep.

    1. I’m typically more of a shower girl too, but since the weather has decided to cool down I’m loving enjoying a cosy bath! I’ve never tried any Laura Mercier products before, but this is one everyone raves about! x

  8. Love this post & totally agree doing something like a pamper evening is important for our self care 😍 when I’ve had a busy or stressful day I like to do my skincare routine thoroughly (not rush it), have dessert like icecream or herbal tea & I also write in my gratitude journal, it helps me to reflect on the more positive things of the day 😊 thanks for sharing!

  9. That pillow mist sounds incredible! I am pretty good about relaxing in the bath and taking that ‘me time’ but when I get out and climb into bed, I often still have a hard time falling asleep. I’m sure that a product like that could help push me past that point so that I could fully relax.
