Working From Home Makeup Look

If you’re fortunate enough to be able to work from the comfort of your home during the pandemic, makeup mighten be on the top of your agenda. However, when a Zoom meeting strikes, panic sets in, and you don’t want to look like you’ve only just jumped out of bed, then this quick and easy makeup routine is perfect for you.

Brows

On a recent trip to Florida I picked up some new makeup, including these two Benefit brow products. Apply the Precisely My Brow Pencil, using a light hand, to add in some hair strokes to make the brows appear fuller and more defined. After this, apply the 24 Hour Brow Setter to keep the hairs in place throughout the day, trust me, they won’t budge!

Primer

Elf Poreless Putty Primer perfect for oily skin

I recently added the Elf Poreless Putty Primer to my collection (review on this here), so I have incorporated this into my new makeup routine. Apply a small amount to your t-zone or to the areas that require a little extra attention.

Foundation

Avon True Nutraeffects BB Cream Matte

Whilst in the house I don’t particularly like to wear a lot of heavy makeup, that is why I am using the Avon Nutraeffects BB Cream (matte version). This product is actually quite thick, but has a lightweight feeling on the skin. It doesn’t have massive amounts of coverage, but does a good job at improving the appearance of the skin. Apply with your fingers or your fave foundation brush.

Concealer

Nars Radient Creamy Concealer (great for oily skin)

I suffer with pretty dark undereyes, even though I’m sleeping better now than when I was at the office. A fuller coverage concealer is important for me, I really like the Nars Radient Creamy Concealer. Add a small amount of concealer near to the inner and outer corners of the eye, and blend out with a wet sponge or brush.

Powder

Rimmel Match Perfection Loose Face Powder (works well with oily skin)

I have always used pressed powder, but of late I use a loose powder. For this look I’m using the Rimmel Match Perfection Loose Powder in 001 Translucent. Using a damp sponge, add a fair amount underneath the eyes to set the concealer, and bake for a few seconds whilst powdering the rest of your skin. For the entire face, add a small amount of powder to a large brush and dust across the skin.

Bronzer

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer, perfect for pale skin

To make the skin appear more sunkissed, add a little bronzer to contour the cheeks and apply a little across the top of the nose and forehead. I like to use the Butter Bronzer by Physicians Formula, it smells exactly like summer so it’s perfect for this time of year!

Blush

Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore. Pale Skin Blush

I have a few blushes which I like to switch between, for this look I’m going with a classic, Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore. This blush adds a lovely flushed appearance to the cheeks and looks super natural if a light hand is used. Apply to the apples of your cheeks and across the nose for that extra flushed look.

Highlighter

Lottie London Shimmer Squad

When on a Teams or a Zoom call, the camera is quite often a little pixelated, hiding a multitude of sins! In a recent meeting I had used the Lottie London Shimmer Squad on the tops of my cheekbones and it looked STUNNING on camera. Mix the shades ‘The Good Girl’ and ‘The Queen Bee’ together to achieve a gorgeous glowy highlighter, then apply to the tops of your cheeks and nose.

Eyes

Soap & Glory Thick and Fast Mascara

For this specific look, apply a little bronzer into your crease and blend. Then, using your finger, mix the two highlighters we used earlier and add to your eyelid and inner corner for a little pop of shimmer. Apply a couple of coats of your favourite mascara, I’m using the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast High Definition Mascara. It adds length and volume to the lashes without any clumpiness.

Lips

Avon Lipstick

I applied a little vaseline before my makeup to keep my lips hydrated. Then for lipstick I went in with an Avon Lipstick in the shade In the Buff. It’s a peachy nude shade that has a slightly matte finish. I’d say it was a dupe for Mac Velvet Teddy without being as matte. I love this lipstick for days when I’m wearing light makeup, or layered on top of a lip liner when I’m going full glam.

I love how simple this makeup look is, it’s perfect for those video call meetings or just as an everyday makeup look. Have you been wearing makeup in lockdown? What are your favourite minimalist products? Want to see the finished look, check it out over on my Insta.

Until Another Day x

  1. I love physician formula products and I’m so happy that they’re available at Boots now! I want to try some more Benefit brow products though, they seem to be a lot of peoples go-to’s 🙂
