If you’re anything like me, then you’ll sure as hell love a pamper session which includes a face mask. I think face masks are my favourite part of my skincare routine, they really help me to relax and leave my skin feeling fresh as a daisy. In this post I wanted to share with you some of my favourite face masks that I use on my oily skin.
GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment
First up is the Supermud mask by GlamGlow. I occasionally suffer from bad breakouts, especially around my period. This mask really reduces the redness of any blemishes and helps to minimise pores. It contains activated charcoal and 6 acids, one of which being the spot fighting Salicylic acid. The mask is dark grey in colour but once it sets turns to a light grey, you can even see the oils that have absorbed out of your skin on the mask…gross!
L’Oreal Pure Clay Blue Algae Blemish Rescue
Another clay mask which is great for those pesky blemishes, is this one from L’Oreal. Blue Algae is well known for its spot fighting properties so that combined with the clay is the perfect concoction. The consistency is a little different to the GlamGlow mask, it doesn’t set down as hard and has a creamier texture, allowing the product to target deep into the pores. I love the colour of this mask, it will have you resembling a cute little smurf!
Avon Blackhead Mask
I mentioned this mask in my morning skincare routine, us oily skin sufferers often have clogged pores because of the excess oil we are producing. So a blackhead clearning mask is the perfect solution. This one from Avon helps remove dirt and oil from the pores to prevent the formation of the dreaded blackhead. If you’re in a bit of a rush, then this product is perfect, it takes just 5 minutes to dry!
Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Mask
This is by far the pricest face mask I have ever owned, it retails for £52.00 for 50ml of product! My boyfriend bought me an Elemis skincare set for Christmas and this was one of the products. It’s recommended to use this twice a week to get firmer looking appearance to the skin. It’s a great anti-aging mask giving the skin a more youthful look from the first application. I like to use this in the morning and leave it on for around 10 minutes, before removing with a warm face cloth. I love how my skin looks and feels afterwards and it has the most amazing scent.
These are the masks that I’ve been loving lately and that I currently have in my collection. I’m going to list some other great face masks that are perfect for oily skin.
- L’Oreal Pure Clay Purity Mask (I’ve also tried the face wash version of this too)
- L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask
- Garnier Moisture Bomb Night-Time Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask (although hydrating it didn’t emphasise my oily skin the next day
I hope this post has helped you discover some new face masks that will be perfect for your oily skin. What are your face mask recommendations?
Until Another Day x
I have oily skin too and I agree with the glam glow mask! It helped my skin so much!

Some fab suggestions here! I don’t have massively oily skin but it’s certainly not dry either. I have noticed a bit more oil recently in fact – especially on my forehead. So maybe an oily skin face mask would be a good option! xxx
