For my first post of 2020 I decided to do an updated skincare routine. The last time I did something like this was well over a year ago. So lets get straight into it…
My daytime and night time skincare routines are largely the same, with a couple of extra steps at night. I have very sensitive skin so I need to be careful with my choice of products, I suffer from eczema on my face and eyelids. This is frustrating because I also suffer from oily skin, meaning I need products that combat both conditions.
Morning Skincare Routine
To begin with I wash my face using the Proactiv+ Skin Smoothing Exfoliator, it’s a very gentle exfoliator which doesn’t irritate my eczema at all. I take time to massage this into my skin, making sure to get deep into my pores. After this I use the Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion on a cotton pad, I rub this into my skin to remove any impurities. Next I go in with the Proactiv+ Pore Targeting Treatment in my t-zone, followed by the Perfection Complexion Hydrator, also by Proactiv+. All the Proactiv+ products can be purchased as part of their 3 Step Clear Skin System, I usually get mine from Amazon or Boots for around £50.

When I’m having a bad eczema day I will use hydrocortisone cream on the effected areas. I had this prescribed to me by the doctors, but it can be purchased over the counter at any pharmacy.
Evening Skincare Routine

Of an evening, I follow the exact same steps as above with the addition of some other products. Rather than using wipes to remove my makeup, I like to use an oil, my go to is Claudalie Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil. I massage this onto dry skin and it instantly breaks down my makeup. I use a hot damp cloth to remove the oil and makeup, my skin always feels fresh and soft when I use this. Once I’ve removed my makeup, I follow my morning skincare routine.

After applying the the 3rd step of the Proactiv+ set, I like to moisturise with the Elemis Oxygenating Night Cream, I use this sparingly because a little goes a long way (plus its really expensive). I have a post reviewing this cream here if you’d like to know a little more. After moisturising, if I have any spots, my go to treatment has always been Sudocrem! It reduces the redness in spots and helps them disappear a lot faster than standard spot creams.

The last product I like to use is the UTAN Jamie Genevieve CBD Tanning Mist, it’s a gradual tanner which smells of lavender. I wake up with slightly darker skin that has a natural glow.
This routine has made me confident enough to go makeup free more often. My skin is pretty much always clear nowadays with the occasional hormonal breakout. Skincare is one thing that I don’t like to play around with. When I find products that work for me, I very rarely switch things up.
Until Another Day x
