Day to day, in my working life, I don’t typically wear a lot of makeup. However, occasionally I do need some extra coverage to give me that little boost of confidence. These products are the things I use in my everyday makeup routine.
For brows I use about 3 different products. Firstly, I start with the Soap and Glory Archery 2-IN-1 Brow Sculpting Crayon. It’s a waxy crayon that adds some colour to the brows, I use this to shape my brows ready for powder. The next product I use is the Illamasqua Eyebrow Cake, this is a coloured brow powder that fills in any sparse areas left by the crayon, I’m in the shade Thunder. Finally, to set my brows I’ve been using the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara. This products adds a hint more colour but also sets my brows in place for the day. I alternate between the clear brow gel that comes with the Soap and Glory Crayon and the NYX gel.
To prime my skin I use the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. I really like how it blurs my pores and doesn’t make my skin look oily throughout the day. My makeup lasts a long time without the need for powder touch ups. I’ve used about 3 tubes of this over the past year or so.
For work I wear minimal makeup so completely skip foundation. I go in with my trusty old Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer, I use the shade C4. I’ve used this for years, pretty much since it was first launched. I find it difficult to get this in Superdrug stores, so I always order mine online. I tend to buy a few at once so I don’t panic when I’m running low. I have a detailed review on this concealer here. I focus the product under my eyes and in my t-zone, blending it out onto my cheeks for that bit of extra coverage.
I’m starting to see a theme here, the majority of the products I use are really affordable! After applying my concealer I like to go in with the Rimmel Stay Matter Pressed Powder to set down the liquid. The concealer is matte anyway but I like to use a mattifying powder to prevent oiliness developing. This is one of my holy grail products that I absolutely swear by, I’ve been using this powder since I was in school and I left over 6 years ago!!
Stepping away from affordable products for a moment, I go in with the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. Judging by the photograph, you can tell this is something I use on the regular. I love this bronzer, it compliments my skin tone perfectly and doesn’t look orange or patchy. This is a must product if you have pale skin. I apply this to the contours of my cheek bones, forehead and nose to add a natural looking sunkiss.
Blusher is something that I switch up regularly, depending on my mood, so I’ve included three that I use all of the time. The Milani Baked Blushes are devine, I’ve used these for years. The have the shades Berry Amore and Luminoso, the latter being my most loved. A more recent discovery of mine is the Soap and Glory Love at First Blush, it has a subtle shimmer adding a glow from within look to my skin. I pop the blush on the apples of my cheeks, blending into the bronzer.
Highlighter has got to be one of my most treasured makeup items, it’s up there with eyeshadow. I have lots of different highlighters but the Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo is the one that I’m drawn to the most. I have the shade Lightening Dust and Fire Crys, they are champagne in colour. I put this on the tops of my cheekbones and onto my eyelids to add a little shimmer. I find that this highlighter turns any look glam, it can be blinding if you apply enough. If that isn’t the look you are going for, make sure to use sparingly.
Some days I don’t actually bother with mascara, I curl my lashes and I’m good to go. But days when I’d like a little more length and volume I go with the NARS Climax Masacara. It darkens my lashes and makes them voluminous without clumping, one layer of this and ready to walk out the door.
Finally, I throw on any lip balm I can find and I’m good to go. Because my makeup is so minimal I don’t like to put on lipstick, a lip balm keeps my lips nourished and I don’t have to worry about the colour fading as the day goes on.
When my skin is in good condition, I go out with brows only and no face makeup. But when I’m attending work meetings or needing a pick me up, this is the look I go for. Do you use any of the products I have mentioned? Or have any recommendations that I can incorporate? Leave me a comment below and I’ll check them out!
Until Another Day x
Loved this post. Some days I really need that makeup for a confidence boost. As I don’t wear makeup a lot I struggle doing eyeliner but it’s something I really want to get good at. Any tips?
Also a good product suggestion would be amazing!
Thanks for the super helpful post. X

Thank you so much! I’m not the best at eyeliner myself but something that always helps me out is to use sellotape/scotch tape at the corner of the eye. It acts as a guide to get that sharp wing. I switch between a few eyeliners but the Benefit Roller Liner is a good one to try out! X

This is great. I’m always looking to change up my routine and I love how affordable your products are. Although I’m happy to splurge when the product really is worth the extra money and I will use it frequently
